Surgical Care Specialists is here to help you provide the highest quality care for your patients while helping your practice increase the level of service offered to your clients. Here are a few items to keep in mind as we work together.

Prepare Your Client For Their Surgical Appointment

  1. Pets should have no food or water after midnight.
  2. Pets should be dropped off at the hospital first thing in the morning unless prior arrangements are made.
  3. Surgical consent forms should be signed by the client upon admission to the hospital.
  4. Payment is required at the time services are rendered unless prior arrangements are made. Surgical Care Specialists accepts cash or checks made payable to ‘Surgical Care Specialists.’

Presurgical Examination

  1. Prior to surgery, we will perform a physical exam, confirm the diagnosis, and review any laboratory tests or diagnostic imaging.
  2. A CBC and chemistry panel prior to general anesthesia is prudent, but we will defer to the judgment of the referring veterinarian in elective cases without any clinical signs.

Additional diagnostics may be recommended or required for individual patients.
